What is soul healing?
Let’s first define what the Biblical definition of soul, Hebrew word nephesh. Here at Greater Portion Ministries, we define the soul, Hebrew word nephesh, as the inner man/woman, the living and breathing self, with seat of appetite, emotion, desire, and passion. In soul healing we address one’s nephesh through a form of Christian therapy that involves inner healing and deliverance. Inner healing helps identify the deeper root causes of our spiritual and emotional struggles (or “the garbage”) in our lives. These root causes could be generational (e.g. cycles of addiction, divorce, abuse), inflicted on us by others, or related to lies that we believe about ourselves. Some lies have become so ingrained in our minds that they have caused broken patterns of thinking (e.g. soul-sickening fear, anxiety, hatred, unforgiveness); resulted in emotional, spiritual and even physical pain; and fueled negative habits and behaviors. In some instances, this “garbage” takes up such a strong presence in our lives that it attracts demonic attention, which causes further oppression that can then only be broken by the power of God.
What can I potentially expect in a soul healing session?
A soul healing session is guided gently by the Holy Spirit (who is a comforter, advocate, healer, and source of empowerment). The Holy Spirit will reveal these deeper root causes during your session, along with any demonic activity that has been occurring around you, through supernatural revelation. This session will be a safe and peace-filled space, as the Holy Spirit cares deeply for your well-being and holds the ultimate power to overcome darkness. Dr. Gladness, who is seasoned in soul healing, holds a certificate in Deep Inner Healing and Deliverance through Hearts Set Free & Kraft Ministries, along with many other professional qualifications, which are listed in the About Rev. Dr. Meillanny Gladness section. She will expertly guide you through your session.
What refreshing changes can soul healing bring about in my life? How can it help me discover God’s positive plan for me?
In the Bible, it says that “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). The Holy Spirit does exactly as He promises in the Bible by breaking off lies, curses, ungodly vows, unbelief, demonic activity, and other bondages of oppression. In addition, the Holy Spirit will fill your life with healing, wholeness, and enormous amounts of faith and hope for the future. When this “garbage” and its toxic effects are removed from your soul, you’ll be able to clearly see and pursue your God-given callings and dreams from a place of deep security and divinely-inspired tranquility and rest.
What is temperament therapy?
Temperament therapy provides clarity about our inborn nature, or how we were “wonderfully made” by God. Psalm 139: 13-14 states, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” You will also understand your strengths and weaknesses and how to best address them.
What can I potentially expect in a temperament therapy session?
You will receive an in-depth temperament therapy assessment and profile known as the Arno Profile System (APS). This is different than a personality test, which measures learned behavior. When one’s temperament and personality are out of alignment, this can lead to interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts. Dr. Gladness will then explain your results in great depth, including how your results can be applied to everyday living.
What refreshing changes can temperament therapy bring about in my life? How can it help me discover God’s positive plan for me?
Your temperament profile will reveal how to:
- Love and accept yourself more fully
- Have a stronger relationship with God and others
- Best interact and communicate with people
- Make better decisions
- Deal with anger, fear, and negative thinking more effectively
- Identify specific tendencies that can keep you from accomplishing your goals and how to overcome them, and
- Define types of employment and ministry that are best suited for you.
Benefits for Parents
Temperament therapy is appropriate for those ages 7 and up. Parents will better understand the inborn nature of their child(ren), which will help create healthier relationship dynamics. If you are seeking to understand behavioral problems exhibited by your child(ren), this therapy can help shine a light on the reasons underlying the behavior. Customized counseling will help address these reasons and shepherd your child(ren) toward their God-given nature.
